Etymology: French, from expert, adjective
Definition: one with the special skill or knowledge representing mastery of a particular subject
An expert is someone widely recognized as a reliable source of knowledge, technique, or skill whose judgment is accorded authority and status by their peers. Experts have prolonged or intense experience through practice and education in a particular field.
If you are an expert and wish to participate in establishing standards for measuring knowledge in your field of expertise, then IKM has an opportunity for you. IKM is always upgrading or developing new assessments using Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to author and review content.
Using IKM TestWrite™ for online collaborative authoring, the administrative process for content development is easy. More challenging for our SMEs is the ability to apply their expertise to IKM's leading adaptive assessment methodology. Every question is weighted for degree of difficulty, while every answer is weighted for degree of accuracy. With each question having up to three answers correct out of five, our SMEs are continually challenged, but constantly rewarded.
IKM's SMEs have the flexibility to work from home or wherever they have internet access, at whatever time is convenient for them - 24/7. Compensated for every question developed, the real incentive is joining a select group of experts who are establishing a standard that will be used the world-over.
We are currently seeking SMEs in all aspects of Information Technology (operating systems, programming, database, security, administration, testing…). See our Future Tests information for more details
If you want to help design the standard by which people all over the world will be measured, then send a message to our Assessment Development Manager or call 732-257-3993.
