Leadership

William Mundell
Chairman

Concurrent with his position at IKM through June 2006, Mr. Mundell also served as Chairman of the Board for Vidyah, Inc promoting rich media e-learning platforms to increase the supply of education while reducing the cost of learning.

Prior to joining Vidyah, Mr. Mundell served as President and Chief Executive Officer of WEFA Group, executing a series of strategic acquisitions that consolidated the economic information industry, and turned WEFA into an international organization with offices and joint ventures around the world.  In 1997, Mr. Mundell, with assistance from Bain Capital, was able to engineer the sale of WEFA and create exceptional returns to WEFA shareholders.

Mr. Mundell previously served as Chairman of Trade, Inc. a leading company in the field of international trade information, financed by Sutter Hill and Bain Capital.  In addition, he was an Adjunct Professor of Economics and Finance at UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management.

Mr. Mundell holds a B.S. degree in Economics and Political Science from Carlton University and an M.B.A. and M.I.A. from Columbia University.

Ken Strauss
Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Strauss was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in April 2005. Mr. Strauss joined IKM in 1996 as National Sales Manager and was promoted to Director of Product Development in January 2000 and to Senior Vice President of Product Development in January 2004. Mr. Strauss has been responsible for the development of many IKM products including TestBuild™, developed in response to the market demand to build tests that combine existing content from multiple tests; TestWrite™, a proprietary authoring tool that enables clients to quickly and easily write their own test content; and TrainingLink™, which provides individual training prescriptions based upon an individual's identified areas of weakness.

Prior to joining IKM, Mr. Strauss spent 15 years in the consulting business. He served as an Application Consultant with Tymshare Inc. from 1981 to 1983; was Technical Vice President at Advanced Infostructures from 1983 to 1986 and became President and Owner from 1987 to 1989.  Previously, Mr. Strauss acted as Vice President and Principal of 3D Information Services from 1989 to 1996.

Mr. Strauss received a BS in Mathematics in 1972 from the State University of New York (SUNY) and an MBA in 1974 from New York University.

Joop Kaashoek
Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Kaashoek joined IKM in November 2000 and is responsible for IT Operations and Systems Development. His involvement with IKM began in August 1999 as a Senior Producer at Krest LLC, the parent company of IKM. In this capacity, Mr. Kaashoek managed the development of IKM Online and other systems that contributed to IKM's successful transition into a fully Internet-centric testing company. In 2004, he designed a fully international system that works in multiple languages.  He is currently in the process of integrating IKM products into partner product offerings.

Prior to his involvement with IKM, Mr. Kaashoek served as Consulting Manager at Grant Thornton LLP in the e-commerce division, from 1998 to 1999. He was president of a startup company that was focused on the development of wireless handheld applications, from 1996 to 1998. An example of his accomplishments is the Mobile Officer's Assistant, which is a Newton-based system that offers police officers the ability to perform wireless vehicle and person checks and issue traffic citations. From 1988 to 1996 he was involved as Chief Architect of various industrial automation projects at Apple Computer sites in Europe and the United States.

Mr. Kaashoek's IT career spans more than 17 years. He received an M.E. in Computer Science/Computer Integrated Manufacturing from the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands. As part of his studies he participated in various scholarship and internship programs in the United States.

David Beer
Vice President Europe and Middle East Operations

David Beer was appointed Vice President of the European Operations in April 2004 when IKM Inc acquired IKM Europe. In April 2007 he was promoted to his current position of Vice President of Europe and Middle East Operations. He is responsible for opening new sales channels, managing reseller and business partnerships and overseeing all sales operations in the European and Middle Eastern markets.

Prior to joining IKM in 1998, Mr. Beer worked for Kewill Systems to develop the company's EDI sales and worked as European Sales Manager for JBA where he was responsible for setting up the European operation in Nijmegen, Holland, to take JBA's Export system to the European market. Mr. Beer started work in the Royal Air Force as an Air Traffic Control Officer and then moved on to a commercial career. He spent seven years with Kalamazoo Business Systems plc as a Sales Manager selling Commercial Accounting systems and four years implementing Legal systems including Accounting, Conveyancing, Probate and Word Processing systems.

Mr. Beer holds a Sales and Marketing diploma from the South West London College.

Frank Palinkas
Vice President Global Sales and Marketing

Joining IKM in February 2000 as VP of Asia Pacific Operations, Frank Palinkas has broadened IKM's footprint in the Asia Pacific region, having added clients such as Reuters Software Thailand, National Australia Bank and OCBC. Appointed as VP of Global Sales and Marketing in 2007, Mr. Palinkas is responsible for supporting the sales and marketing initiatives across all geographies. In parallel, Mr. Palinkas continues to manage the Asia Pacific operations including developing new sales channels, managing resellers and business partnerships and overseeing all operations in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.

Mr. Palinkas brings over 25 years of IT and Management expertise to the leadership team. Prior to joining IKM, he spearheaded his own IT consulting company for six years, during which time he managed projects for Visy Industries, acted as a sales agent for Corvu (Business Intelligence Software), GEAC (Financial Management Software), Neller Software (HR/Payroll Software), Wang Australia (outsourced and managed Network and Desktop services), and Vantive (CRM Software) holding the only VAR agreement for Australia for 2 years.  With a keen interest in matching skills to projects, Mr. Palinkas also specialized in IT recruitment adding an extremely successful revenue stream for his company.

Before starting his own venture, Mr. Palinkas was also Director and Southern Regional Manager for Datamation Software Systems for more than 7 years where he was responsible for developing, supporting and supplying software to the Government Sector.

Andrew Stark
Vice President of South Africa Operations

Andrew Stark has had a long and fruitful association with IKM, initially employed as a distributor in Africa from 1997-2000, and now as Vice President of the South African operations under the TeckChek banner. Mr. Stark has established IKM's assessment solutions as the industry standard in IT knowledge measurement amongst blue chip companies across the region.

Also a partner in Decisioneering, a business consulting firm that focuses on assisting companies with strategic group decision making processes, Mr. Stark adopts a hollistic approach to Talent Management.  Mr. Stark also brings first hand experience in human resources, skills assessment, development and recruitment.

Mr. Stark is currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of South Africa.

Michael Walsh
Vice President of Sales & Marketing - North America

Mike Walsh joined IKM in 2001 as a Sales Manager, adding key clients to the roster such as Keane and Compuware. During this time Mr. Walsh was instrumental in the development of new products such as IKM VirtualRecruiter, a solution that reduces the manual effort involved in assessing job applications.

Following his success he was promoted to Vice President of Sales & Marketing - North America in 2006, and is responsible for the direct sales force, sales plans, execution of strategic marketing and overall customer satisfaction.  Mr. Walsh focuses on supporting his team to deliver and exceed on targets while ensuring clients gain tangible ROI from its products.

Mr. Walsh brings a wealth of knowledge to the company, having been with CareerBuilder, Parametric Technology Corporation and Minolta Business Systems, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Iowa State University.
