TeckChek offers IT assessments mapping to the ECDL / ICDL syllabus.

New York City, New York – Wednesday, July 28, 2004TeckChek, the leading provider of vendor-independent IT skills assessment services since 1987, today announced the introduction of a new series of assessments designed to measure proficiency in basic computer skills and to provide individualized training prescriptions mapped to the ECDL / ICDL curriculum.

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) and it’s international counterpart ICDL are a world-wide recognised computer skills certification programme. The overall objective of the ECDL / ICDL programme is to raise the level of core knowledge about Information Technology (IT) and computer skills competency on a global basis and to provide an internationally recognised certification.
The new ECDL / ICDL assessment series will help TeckChek clients to assess basic computer profiency in existing and potential employees. There are six (6) assessments in the series covering the ECDL / ICDL syllabus.

  • Basic concepts of IT
  • Word processing (Word XP)
  • Spreadsheets (Excel XP)
  • Database (Access XP)
  • Presentation (PowerPoint XP)
  • Information and Communication (Web browsing and e- mail)

Each TeckChek assessment is broken down into distinct subtopics that are mapped to specific modules in the ECDL curriculum. When used as a pre- training tool, the TeckChek assessments will provide the individual test taker with a learning prescription pointing to specific detailed curriculum modules addressing the demonstrated weaknesses of the individual. By focusing training on specific areas of weakness clients and training participants will save signifcant time and money.
