This test assesses the proficiency of a PC (desktop) technician in installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading PCs running the Windows operating system (Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7) on a network. It covers knowledge of personal computer hardware and peripherals, operating systems, network design, protocols, and security. It includes diagnosing and troubleshooting PC and network problems in addition to preventive maintenance activities. It also covers basic smartphone and PDA support typically handled by PC Technical Support.
